ASML reports strong Q2 results

Revenue and net income both increase significantly

Company reiterates full-year guidance

ASML Holding NV (ASML) reported strong second-quarter results on Thursday, with revenue and net income both increasing significantly year-over-year. The company also reiterated its full-year guidance.

Revenue for the quarter came in at €6.2 billion, up 39% from €4.5 billion in the same period last year. Net income was €1.6 billion, up 53% from €1.1 billion in Q2 2023.

ASML said that the strong demand for its products continued in the second quarter, driven by the ongoing growth in the semiconductor industry. The company also benefited from the ramp-up of production of its new EUV lithography systems.

“We are pleased with our strong performance in the second quarter,” said ASML CEO Peter Wennink. “We saw continued strong demand for our products, and we are making good progress on our roadmap. We are confident in our ability to continue to grow our business and deliver value for our shareholders.”

ASML reiterated its full-year guidance for 2024. The company expects revenue to be in the range of €24 billion to €26 billion, and net income to be in the range of €6.2 billion to €7.2 billion.

The positive financial results and the company's confidence in its future prospects were well received by investors. ASML shares rose by more than 5% in pre-market trading on Thursday.
